We continue to work to put our resources at your disposal 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Our Web site (www.nystax.gov), interactive telecommunications system (800-CALL-TAX) and fax-on-demand service (800-748-3676) give taxpayers access to forms, instructions, guidance materials, answers to frequently asked questions and many other resources at the taxpayer’s convenience.

The Department has developed a strategic plan that will guide us in our continuing efforts to improve the quality of our service. We have simplified or eliminated many filing requirements. Our call centers have been expanded to provide immediate assistance to taxpayers and practitioners, and we offer extended hours during peak filing periods. Finally, we have significantly reduced the time it takes to issue income tax refunds.

While we have accomplished much, we remain committed to continuous improvement. The taxpayers of New York State deserve no less.
