Register yourself as a tax return preparer

This option is designed for a tax preparer who wants to register and pay (if required) individually.

There are two steps to the registration process:

1. Create an Online Services account, if you don’t already have one.

You need to create an Individual Online Services account.

This account is associated with you personally, and will use your social security number for verification purposes.

You should use your own income tax filing history to create this account.

DO NOT use your client’s information to create your Online Services account.

2. Complete the Tax Preparer Registration online service

Once you login to your account, you will see a list of available services.

Select the link for “Register myself as a tax preparer”

After you complete the registration process you will receive a confirmation number and you will have an opportunity to print your Registration Certificate.
